What makes your work special?
In our international projects, we train professionals in deaf education through on-site training and e-Learning (e-learning.kentalis.com). These are subject matter experts, often teacher trainers and teachers in African countries, so they can train others in the future and pass on the knowledge (train the trainer). As an e-Learning administrator/developer, you make a valuable contribution to this sustainable knowledge exchange. We work with the Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle Workplace.
For example, read more about our Cameroon project, where enthusiastic professionals learned everything about an effective method to teach deaf children to read.
You have a variety of tasks, focusing on development and management. You ensure that the course content is well presented on the e-Learning platform, meeting the users’ needs. Daily, you ensure the smooth operation of the e-Learning platform. Additionally, you answer support questions from students (often teachers in African countries), ICT staff from our local project partners, or our own colleagues. You solve bugs and manage Moodle Multi-tenancy. You also play a role in further developing course materials in consultation with content experts and project managers.
Who will you work with?
You will join a close-knit and dedicated team of 6 colleagues with extensive experience in international knowledge sharing. Our team’s hallmark is our expertise and commitment to providing equal and high-quality education and care for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. You can work wherever you prefer, whether at our office in Utrecht (within walking distance of Kanaleneiland station) or from home. There is a lot of flexibility in working days and hours.
What we offer you
A dynamic work environment where your experienced colleagues are ready to guide you within Kentalis International Foundation and the projects. You will work quite independently, and besides your direct International team, the technical colleagues from the Dutch Kentalis LMS can also become your buddies.
Additionally, we offer:
- A gross monthly salary of €3,347 to €4,902 (FWG 55) for a full workweek of 36 hours. All employment conditions are in accordance with the cao (collective labor agreement) Gehandicaptenzorg.
- A part-time position of 18 hours per week.
- A one-year employment contract with the prospect of a permanent position upon good performance and unchanged circumstances.
- 144 hours of vacation leave and 57 hours of balance hours (pro rata), pension accrual with PFZW.
- Extras such as a year-end bonus of 8.33% in December, travel allowance of €0.16 per kilometer for commuting.
- A preboarding app to get to know Kentalis in advance.
- A benefits package that you can customize yourself. Will you choose a gym membership, a bicycle, or some professional literature?
Who are you?
You play a crucial role as a connector between Kentalis International Foundation's project leaders, partners, and back office. You work independently. With many upcoming projects, you are excellent at setting priorities. You remain calm and efficient, even when the pressure increases due to project scaling, and you quickly adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Furthermore:
- Preferably, you have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT/information management.
- You have advanced knowledge of the LMS Moodle / e-Learning.
- You are proficient in English (CERF C1), and preferably also speak and write Dutch and/or French (CERF B2/B1).
