First VIG Training in Zambia
Kentalis International Foundation is proud to announce the ongoing training of our Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) course in Zambia. Our team is currently on-site, delivering this training at local schools in Choma and Mazabuka.
Building on previous training
This initiative builds on the success of a previous project in Zambia, where we implemented the Reading Method for Early Literacy (RMEL) two years ago.
The VIG course is designed to enhance communication and teaching skills through the use of video analysis. By recording and reviewing interactions, the participants gain valuable insights into their communication techniques, allowing for improvements in their teaching methods.
Our team is working closely with local educators in Zambia to ensure the successful implementation of VIG. The training sessions are being conducted in a hands-on manner, providing participants with practical experience and immediate feedback. This approach not only helps in understanding the theoretical aspects of VIG but also in applying these techniques in real-world scenarios.
The previous rollout of the RMEL project in Zambia has laid a strong foundation for our current efforts. The RMEL course, aimed at improving early literacy among deaf and hard-of-hearing children, has been well-received and has shown positive results. Building on this success, the VIG training aims to further enhance the educational skills of the teachers.
We are excited about the potential impact of this training to further strengthen the education of children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing!
